Bear River Cherry Carnival History
In 1780 it was discovered that cherry trees would grow well in this area.
In 1893, George Brooks made the cherry trees the focus of a celebration.
This celebration was and still is a thank you to the hard-working men and women of the village.
The celebration soon would be known as the Bear River Cherry Carnival.

This plaque was awarded to Fred Read for winning the 3 Mile Race at the 1910 Cherry Carnival
Throughout the years the Cherry Carnival has been hosted by several organizations, for the past fifty plus years it has become the annual fund-raiser for the Fire Department.
