The Bear River Volunteer Fire Department is nestled in the valley at the mouth of the Bear River in the community of Bear River Nova Scotia.

30+ members strong the Bear River Fire Department has one of the biggest volunteer fire districts in Nova Scotia.
On average we respond to 80 calls per year - house fires, car fires, chimney fires, grass fires, motor vehicle collisions and medical calls.
Our neighbouring departments are Annapolis Royal, Brighton and Barton, Digby and Smiths Cove.
